Numerical models of GRB central engines and challenges with observations

I will review the recent developments of GR MHD numerical simulations of GRB central engines. I will also present some multi-messenger observational challenges still unsolved by these models. Extended theories of electromagnetism and their impact on laboratory experiments and as-
